Walking with Linda : 6, 8 or 10 mile, Carshalton to Clapham Junction walk & Sewing Machine Museum Vi

Join Linda for this 6, 8 or 10 mile, Carshalton to Clapham Junction walk & Sewing Machine Museum Visit.

Please meet outside Carshalton railway station at 09:50am, ready to depart at 10:00 am

We will walk down to Carshalton Ponds to use the facilities at the Honeywood Museum Cafe. The walk is then flat and will take us via parks and alongside the River Wandle to Merton Abbey Water Mill.

We'll have a pub for lunch (at your own expense) overlooking the River Wandle. 

If a 6 mile walk and a pub lunch is enough for you, you can catch a train home from Colliers Wood tube station, shortly after lunch.

The walking group will continue via a couple of cemeteries to the Sewing Machine Museum for a visit to this very quirky and interesting museum.

If an 8 mile walk, a pub lunch and the museum visit is enough for you, you can catch a train home from Tooting Bec tube station, which us very close to the museum.

Or you can then choose to walk with me to Clapham Junction railway station via Wandsworth Common to complete the 10 mile circular walk.

We can stop to treat ourselves to a cup of tea and a piece of cake in Clapham, before catching our trains home if you wish.

Please bring drinking water, money to buy lunch and any other drinks and snacks you may want. 

Please dress for the weather on the day (and bring a golfing umbrella if it is expected to rain!).

Please check your transport times, and for any engineering works, at least the day before the walk and allow some contingency time for delays.  

The walk needs to depart on time for the comfort and enjoyment of those who have arrived on time. Thank you.
