National Weekend: Monday Riverside and Knavesmire Walk
Monday 07 August 2023 10:00
From £0.00
Listed by Spice National
This event is for those booked on the Spice National Weekend in Historic York.
A leisurely walk along the banks of York's River Ouse to the Knavesmire and back.
We'll walk through the city and cross the Blue Bridge, where the Foss meets the Ouse. We'll then continue downstream along the riverside paths and cross the Millennium Bridge to the Knavesmire, which is home to York's racecourse. There is no racing today, so we should be able to walk around the course. We'll then head back to the hotel down the main roadway approach to York, with views of the imposing Micklegate Bar, which once was used to display heads on spikes, but we don't expect that to to be the case today!
The total distance will be around 5 miles on level paths.
We'll be back in time for anyone who is also doing the Minster Scaffolding Tour at 1pm.
Location & Itinerary
This is an optional activity for those on our Spice National Weekend in Historic York.
We'll meet in the hotel reception at 10am.
