Lavender Wand Workshop at Avoncroft Museum

Spice exclusive event!
From the 18th century onwards, more decorative ways of using lavender were utilised, including the making of lavender wands. Lavender wands are made by weaving ribbons with the stems of lavender to enclose the fragrant lavender blossoms inside. They can be used to scent drawers, cabinets and closets and also act as a useful moth repellent.
Course Details: Learn all about the history, design, and making of lavender wands and take your own away for your drawers, cabinets, and closets.
Tutor details: Our workshop leader Marion will guide us through the intricacies of making these beautiful wands.
Participant information: All materials will be provided.
Refreshments: Breakfast tea and filter coffee provided free of charge. The Museum tearoom, serving a range of sandwiches, will also be open. Sandwiches can be pre-booked by the tutor upon arrival.

The Museum is about 2 miles south of Bromsgrove off the A38 bypass (400 yards north of its junction with the B4091).
It is 3 miles north of the M5 Junction 5 and 3 miles south of the M42 Junction 1.It is signposted with those brown “tourist attraction” type signs.
