Lights of Abraham - Matlock Bath
Overview
Join us for this lovely, unusual way to see the Heights of Abraham.
Make your way down the festoon-lit riverside walkway before arriving at the base station to board your gondola and take a moonlit cable car flight across the river and above an avenue of colour.
Once you arrive at the summit set off on the trail that winds through illuminated gardens, across boardwalks and along woodland paths. You'll encounter many interesting and unusual scenes along the way.
Look out for the neon forest, the giant swans, interactive stepping stones, ice garden & colourful surprises around every corner.
We will be looking to eat after our walk through the trail. This may be on site or outside of the venue.
The Vista Bar will be open serving festive tipples alongside its usual drinks’ menu, with pizzas on offer too. Downstairs in the cafe they will be serving jacket potatoes, loaded chips including festive fries, and delicious cake. The Snap Tin will be open too with take away drinks and festive treats. There are also lovely firepits to toast marshmallows on and keep warm!
There will be 6 people to a car so we may end up sharing with non spice members.
Our visit will last around an hour before finding somewhere to eat.
This is a public event.
Includes
- Entrance to the cable car and light trail
- Services of your Spice volunteer coordinator
Extras
We will look for somewhere to eat after our visit.
Location & Itinerary
The site is inherently steep and the ground in parts is uneven, therefore for your safety, we suggest the trail may not be suitable for those with mobility issues.
Taken from the web site... We don't have our own car park. There are four main car parks in Matlock Bath. These are all run by Derbyshire Dales District Council, and therefore are all pay and display. The machines accept cash or you can pay by phone. Please note, the machines do not accept cards.
Arrive Early!
We recommend you arrive to Matlock Bath as early as you can. If your time slot is in the afternoon, why not spend your morning exploring the local area. Matlock Bath is often described as a 'seaside town, without the sea', so get your car parking spot and have a stroll around to discover something new!
