Walking with Linda : 8 mile, Blackfriars Circular Walk plus The Tate Britain & The Lookout Visits.
Overview
Join Linda for a 8 mile, Blackfriars Circular Walk plus The Tate Britain & The Lookout Visits.
Please meet at Blackfriars railway station, inside the station entrance on the NORTH side of the River Thames, at 0950, ready to depart at 1000.
We will walk alongside the Thames, crossing the various bridges to best admire London, en-route to Pimlico.
We'll stop for lunch (at your own expense) at The Gallery pub, originally called 'The Perseverance'. When the Master Builder Thomas Cubitt was commissioned to build the new district of Pimlico in 1840, he hired mostly Irish labourers and sensibly, had them build the pub called 'The Perseverence' first!
After lunch, we will visit the Tate Britain gallery for an hour to admire wonderful, historic masterpieces of art.
We'll then follow the Thames to London Bridge where we will head inland to 'The Lookout' in Bishopsgate. The Lookout will allow us to view London from 50 floors up.
You might like to end the day by treating yourself to a pot of tea and cake in one of the local cafés before catching your train home.
Please bring drinking water, money to buy lunch and any other drinks and snacks you may want.
Please dress for the weather on the day (and bring a golfing umbrella if it is expected to rain!).
