Walking with Linda - 6 mile, London King's Cross to Charing Cross walk & The National Gallery visi
Overview
Join Linda for this 6 mile, London King's Cross to Charing Cross walk & The National Gallery visit.
Please meet by the big white 'bird cage' structure on the pavement beside Kings Cross Railway Station on Pancras Road which runs, between Kings Cross and St. Pancras railway stations (near the German Gymnasium restaurant) by 09:50 ready for a prompt 10:00 departure.
We will walk through Regents Park, Hyde Park, Green Park and St. James's Park before we stop at about 12:30 for lunch in the Civil Service Club restaurant near Charing Cross (at your own expense). The Civil Service Club offer a pub type menu at very reasonable prices.
After lunch we'll have a 15 minute walk to The National Gallery on Trafalgar Square. Just a very short walk after lunch to the Gallery because you will no doubt, continue to walk many more steps while looking at the artworks in The National Gallery.
We will have free time in The National Gallery to view the valuable artworks of our individual choice. We'll then meet up again to go underground into a church crypt (now a café) to end our day with a cup of tea if you wish or you might prefer to just make your way home from Charing Cross railway station.
Please bring drinking water, money to buy lunch and any other drinks and snacks you may want.
Please dress for the weather on the day (and bring a golfing umbrella if it is expected to rain!).
Please check your transport times, and for any engineering works, at least the day before the walk and allow some contingency time for delays. The walk needs to depart on time for the comfort and enjoyment of those who have arrived on time. Thank you.
