Walk - Test Way 5: Mottisfont to Romsey
Overview
The fifth leg of our 2019 Walking Challenge - The Test Way. Today, Brenda will guide us on a 6.5 mile walk from Mottisfont to Romsey. Anyone welcome to join us just for this leg even if you are not able to complete the whole challenge with us.
We start at Mottisfont, crossing the River Dun just before it joins the River Test, skirting round the village of Awbridge before entering Squabb Wood. We will have views of Romsey Abbey over the marshland before passing a mill and salmon leap to reach the medieval market town.
Priority for spaces on the walk will go to those who are booked for the Test Way Challenge, but some spaces for this individual section are available if you're not able to join us for the whole challenge.
NOTE - We meet at the END of the walk and will then car share to the start. Those whose cars remain at the end will need to give the others a lift back to the start at the end of the walk, so that they can collect their cars.
Location & Itinerary
Free car park at the Romsey Rapids, A27 Southmpton Road, Romsey, SO51 8AF - use the small car park to the left of the entrance, where the toilets are
We will all meet in the free car park at Romsey Rapids (the end of the walk). Some cars will be left in their car park and we will then car share to the start of the walk in Mottisfont.
