The Shakespeare Express from Birmingham to Stratford-upon-Avon
Overview
Join us for a magnificent journey on a heritage train
The ever-popular Shakespeare Expressfrom Birmingham Snow Hill or Birmingham Moor Street takes us through pretty Warwickshire countryside to the pretty town of Stratford-upon-Avon.
As this is a main line, we run at express speeds of up to 75 mph behind a famous express steam locomotive* from the golden age of train travel.
We leave Birmingham at around 10am when we can sit back in our 1950s or 1960s seat for a journey of approximately one hour.
We should have 4 to 5 hours in Stratford upon Avon where we will plan some other activities at one of the many attractions.
The return is around 4:15 and should arrive back in Birmingham just after 5pm.
Note about tickets: We need to book and pay for these tickets in advance. We will need to resell your place before we can offer any refunds.
Steam: The Shakespeare Express is due to be steam hauled and usually is. However, on occasions, due to instructions from Network Rail (usually in very hot weather with an increased risk of fire) or in the case of steam engine availability, the service may be run by a heritage diesel engine. Vintage trains won't offer any refunds in these circumstances.
