Sunday Walk: Rivington Pike and Lever Park
Overview
Today we are taking on a lovely though sometimes steep walk around Lever Park and up to Rivington Pike which was used to warn off the Spanish Armada. We will be taking in the Pigeon Tower, the half Hidden previously neglected formal gardens which have recently seen lots of TLC and the remains of the folly of Liverpool Castle as we return on the banks of the reservoir. This is a walk of amazing variations both in the places encountered and the near and far views.
There are a couple of long, steep climbs today but the pace will be as leisurely as the group needs to make this a sociable walk that we should all enjoy; once we get our breath back that is!
Lisa is a photographer with a great eye for a good photo opportunity and encourages you to take photos too. You don't have to be an expert and a camera phone is ideal to capture the amazing landscape.
