Overview

We had great feedback from our visit in August (see below) so we are running the event again in case anyone wants a return visit or for those of you that missed out previously.

Today we have an opportunity to visit Birmingham Crown Courts and to gain an understanding about how the law and the courts operate.

We will need to arrive at 8.45am and we will be taken into a courtroom. A court usher will deliver a brief talk about roles in the court room and court etiquette. Please feel free to ask as many questions as you wish whilst with our usher.

Our group will then be split into groups of 3 or 4, and we will be taken to sit in the public gallery of a court to observe the court in action.

We can stay in the courts for as long as we like and can swap courts to hear various cases if we wish.

Following our visit we will look to have brunch/lunch at a local pub.

I saw a bit of action in court! I ended up wandering into Court 7 where there was a modern slavery case which carried on into the afternoon. The judge wasn't holding back!

Really enjoyed the visit. Shame some defendants didn't turn up or that cases was adjourned. Well worth a return,

This was fascinating although the courts were quiet.

Really enjoyed the visit ,very interesting and well worth the visit.
