Overview

Cannock Chase Trekking Centre is an ultra-modern, state of the art Horse Riding Centre, set in the stunning surrounds of Cannock Chase. Spice first visited them in 1999 and although it has been several years since we were last there, they remember us fondly and can't wait to welcome us back!

Lisa, who owns the Riding School is a great horsewoman (and ex Levi jeans model!), and has improved the centre no end over the years. They now have now have a covered arena, a complement of 46 well-trained horses, and their gorgeous Ranch Bistro, which serves amazing food and drinks.

Our trek is perfect for a wide range of abilities, whether you’re a complete beginner or an experienced rider. All that is required from you is a basic level of fitness as we will be out on Cannock Chase for the full two hours.

Full instruction will be given to teach beginners how to do a rising trot, and experienced riders can break off with our guides for a canter if they wish.

This is a public ride, but we have a number of spaces held for Spice. We also plan to meet in their onsite Ranch Bistro for food drinks beforehand to get to know one another.

Lisa photographed above, grew up on a riding school in Cannock Chase. She’s passionate about horses and has always wanted others to understand just how satisfying it can be to ride one of these beautiful creatures. Lisa’s childhood dream of owning an inclusive riding centre came to fruition in 1995, when Cannock Chase Trekking Centre first opened its doors to the public.

Cannock Chase Trekking Centre is set in 43 acres of land with immediate access to the breath taking natural environment of Cannock Chase; a designated Area of Outstanding National Beauty nestled in the heart of Staffordshire.

This trekking centre specialises in providing off-road horse/pony trekking that will enable you to experience the ever-changing seasonal landscape from the unique viewpoint you can only get on horseback.

Food & Meals

The Ranch Bistro evokes the aura of Norwegian ski lodges in the winter and Western ranch haciendas in lazy summers. They have stunning views over the countryside and horses too. They offers fresh-off-the-roastery coffee, hand-crafted, luxury milkshakes, cakes and lunch/brunch options.

Spice plan to meet before here before our trek to get to know each other over a coffee or food. The option for another drink after the trek is also there for those that wish.

Is this for me?

Although not a Spice exclusive event, we have the opportunity to meet in their café beforehand to get to know each other.

Weight Limit: The trekking centre currently have a weight limit for treks of 15 stone.
