Hope Valley Real Ale Trail by Rail

Here is a fantastic opportunity to enjoy some of the local drinking establishments of the Peak District as well as taking in the breath-taking scenery of the countryside. Whilst all the bars will have a host of real ales they also offer a variety of refreshments to cater for all taste buds. This is not just a real ale trail but a unique event offering a chance to capture the wonderful Hope Valley as we stop at each station and have a leisurely stroll to each port of call. We have also managed to include a meal at the award winning restaurant providing us with the best of home cooked food produced from locally sourced ingredients.

Meet up 12 noon – 12:30pm Piccadilly Tap, Station Approach, Manchester (please note the train departs at 1249 hours with or without you!)

We will visit the following establishments: Little John Hotel - Hathersage

Old Hall Hotel - Hope (meal booked for 3pm)

Rambler Inn, Edale

The Norfolk Arms, Marple Bridge

Additional Information: It is approximately an hour’s journey to Hathersage so would recommend you bring refreshments for the train journey.

From the train stations to the public houses it is between 5-10 minutes walk.

The return ticket to Manchester is flexible & trains run every half an hour from Marple eg 1908 hrs would get you back to Manchester Piccadilly at 1933 hrs.

Please note: whilst Tanya will be the volunteer co-ordinator for this event, a detailed itinerary will be given to everyone on the day and it is individual’s responsibility to ensure that they board and get off the trains at the relevant stations as it may not be possible to keep everyone together on board the train

Cancellation Policy: Please note that we have to pay the pub for your lunch 2 weeks ahead of the event so the cancellation policy for this event is 14 days rather than the usual 7 days ahead of the event. If you need to cancel within the 14 days we can only organise a refund in the event that we manage to sell on your place and your menu choice!
