Evening Walk: Etherow, River Goyt + Brabyns Park
Overview
Unwind from the stress of a working day on an evening Walk from Etherow Country Park. Nestled in the Etherow Goyt Valley, this park offers 240 acres of lakes, rivers and ancient wooded hillsides and was one of Britain’s first country parks. Don’t forget to bring a torch as we may be finishing in the dark when we may have the opportunity to see or hear any one of the three species of bats that make this park their home..
Location & Itinerary
Grade 4: 4 1/2 Miles - please refer to the walk grading information within the website FAQs HERE which also gives you a list of recommended items to bring with you.
Directions: From Stockport, follow the A626 to Marple. At the traffic lights in Marple, bear left into Station Road – signpost A626 Glossop. Down the hill to pass Marple Railway Station and bear left at the traffic lights by the Norfolk Arms – sign post A626 Glossop. Up the hill and bear left onto the B6104 Compstall Road. Pass Compstall Mill and turn right – signpost Etherow CP – and then take the next right for the Pay and Display Car Park.
