Conway/Conwy Hostel Festive Social & Chillout Weekend
Overview
Join us to kick start the festive season in our Spice exclusive YHA hire in the fabulous Conway (Conwy) site of the Unesco World Heritage Conway Castle - this is likely to be our last visit so don't hold out for 2025!
This weekend we will be kicking off our festive season with Carol Singing, Secret Santas, Festive food, party music, a walk in to Llandudno and more.
The spacious hostel lends itself well to us putting up the Christmas Decorations and enjoying a weekend in like minded company. Don't forget your festive jumpers or be bold and bring your Christmas fancy dress!
The weekend is self catering which basically means that we supply the food and that we will need (& expect) everyone to muck in during the cooking and/or cleaning up process - don't worry, you don't need to be good at catering, just willing to have a go and lend a hand. There will be a lovely buffet organised for our Friday night arrival and a sit down meal for the Saturday night.
For those staying the Sunday night which is likely to be a fair number of bookings we will provide a continental breakfast on the Monday morning plus help with suggestions for dining out locally or takeaways at the hostel.
Early Bird: this event is on early bird price until 30th September when the price increases by £15 per person

Location & Itinerary
Plenty of good quality food is provided on these weekends away. As always with these hostel style weekends, everyone is expected to muck in to help make the weekend go smoothly from helping with the cooking, washing up and making sure that the venue is left spick and span upon our departure.
These are wonderfully sociable weekends and everyone is always impressed with what you get included - they are a great way to meet members from Spice Social groups from across the UK. Don't worry if you don't know anyone booked on the weekend; these are so sociable you very soon will do.
Travel & Stay
Once again, we have taken exclusive hire of the spacious YHA at Conway (or Conwy as the locals call it) which sleeps up to 80 people. We always see this weekend as our event to kick start the festive activities and look forward to it each year.
This modern building in north Wales has recently undergone refurbishment and now offers exceptional facilities with breath-taking views of the Conwy Valley. It is a few minutes’ walk from the town centre and the medieval castle and is an ideal base to enjoy the surrounding area of Snowdonia, for exploring nearby award winning beaches.
The ensuite dormitories are a maximum of 4 per room in bunk beds with YHA quality bedding included. There is two double ensuite rooms and a handful of 2 bedded (bunk) ensuite rooms which will be held for couples. Additionally we are offering the option of a couple of sole occupancy of a limited number of 2 bedded ensuite (bunk) rooms at a premium price.
Dining room and lounge: The spacious dining room/lounge area seats 90 people at tables and there is also comfy seating for 16. The games room has a pool table, football table, giant Connect 4 and various board games.
Washrooms: All rooms are fully en-suite, please bring your own towels however bedding is provided.
Outside there are large grounds which have a summer house and also a large patio area with chairs and tables though in December we are not likely to make use of these
The hostel is fully central heated throughout. Wif-Fi is available at this property which is free of charge for guests to use. All bedrooms are accessible via the staircase or the lift.
Directions: From Chester on the A55 – take the 1st exit signposted Conwy. Follow the signs into town, taking you into the one way system. Follow the road, past the Police Station and main square, then out of arch way. Turn immediately left up Mount Pleasant, then right at the top. The hostel driveway is about 150m on the left.
Parking: Parking is available on-site for up to 40 cars however this will mean some will be blocked in
