Codsall and Chillington Hall Moderate Ramble

A pleasant 7 mile walk of 3-4 hours on the Staffordshire Way from Codsall. We join the Staffordshire Way near Codsall town centre and follow north to Chillington Hall where we can enjoy its impressive parkland.

We then follow an old trackway through woodland before returning through Codsall Wood and the graveyard of St Nicholas’s Church to the town centre. There are pubs in Codsall and we normally stop at a nice one in Codsall Wood towards the end of the route.

Chillington Hall: This walk includes an entire circuit around the perimeter of the impressive Chillington Hall and Richard can pass on some details about this historic estate with its Capability Brown landscaping and huge lake. It's been continually occupied by generations of the same family (The Gifford's) for around 900 years. The current Hall is the 3rd on the site and is Georgian..
