Birstwith Walk and lunch at the Station Hotel
Overview
We’ll walk eastwards from the village of Birstwith on paths and across fields towards and through the village of Clint, where we will see the Grade II listed cross base and village stocks. We’ll continue to the edge of Hollybank Wood before turning and crossing the River Nidd. After passing through the churchyard of St Thomas a Becket on the edge of Hampsthwaite, we’ll pick up the short Medieval Way. After a short distance along the road, our route follows the southern bank of the Nidd, back to our start point in Birstwith. Our lunch awaits us at The Station Hotel, which is just about the only reminder of the railway station that served the village on the former Nidd Valley line.
