Overview

We ran our first mid-week 4 night Anglesey trip in 2021 and everyone loved it and asked if we could run it again, so here it is for the 4th year!

Why not join us for a fabulous mid-week break on Holy Island off Anglesey - we just love this area, the venue and everything it has to offer. It will involve exploring some of the most stunning coastal views on Anglesey (so don’t forget your camera). This four night trip will be a refreshing break with guided walks and local visits. The island is such a beautiful area, full of places for us to visit. Castles, beaches, shopping… you name it!

Our venue is a short walk from the beautiful coastline where there are quiet coves, rockpools and a little further on, a beautful sandy beach. The gorse seems to be in bloom all year round and there are wooded areas to explore or you can just relax onsite.

Travel & Stay

Anglesey Mid Week Break (2)

On our trip to Anglesey, we will be staying at the 3 star Outdoor Alternative which has facilities designed for comfort all year round. The buildings are heated and well ventilated so our stay will be warm, fresh and relaxed.

There’s no need to worry about bedding since pillows, duvet & sheets are provided in the hostel but obviously if you choose the camping option, please bring your own. Toilet, shower and wash room facilities are either ensuite or adjacent to the bedrooms and for those camping there are plentiful onsite facilities however please note the site does not have electric hook ups for campers/campervans. Rooms will be allocated on a first come first served basis with 2 smaller rooms that take 3 or at a supplement can be used for couples. We only accept requests for bottom bunks for medical reasons and will do our best to assist but as most members would like a bottom bunk, we cannot guarantee them. The facilities provide space for parking although we are likely to be blocking each other in. If you are camping, provided the ground is in good condition, we can park our cars in front of our tents.

Getting There

Directions: From the A55 dual carriageway across the Island leave at Junction 3, signposted Y Fali/Valley, A5; Follow signs for Y Fali/Valley, continue to the road junction traffic lights. Turn left for Trearddur (Bay) B4545. Continue for just over 1 mile, over the new road bridge, straight across the mini roundabout Take the left turn shortly after the bridge over the Inland Sea at Four Mile Bridge - signposted "Rhoscolyn" and "White Eagle" After 1.3 miles turn sharp left at the 'Silver Bay' sign. At about 1K/.6mile down this lane, look for a large white gate-post appearing in the middle of the road. Take the unmade track, to the right of the post; the gate says "Private road no cars" Follow this track 200m, Cerrigyr Adar / Outdoor Alternative is on the left, with large stone gateposts.

What to bring: To ensure that you are properly equipped, please take a moment to read through the ‘What to bring list’ and ensure that you have the necessary clothing and equipment.

Travel Insurance: It is also recommended that when travelling on holiday or attending Spice weekends away in the UK or overseas that you have adequate travel insurance in case of emergency, cancellation, etc. Travel insurance is an important aspect to booking a weekend or holiday, giving you protection against unforeseen circumstances. We also strongly recommend a personal travel insurance policy that includes COVID-19 cover. While we cannot recommend specific insurance policies as everyone’s requirements are personal to them, Spice have linked up with market leader Staysure Travel Insurance which you may like to take a look at.
