Comedy: Outside the Box Comedy Club @Stockport Garrick

This has become a firm favorite Comedy Night from 'Outside the Box' at Garrick Theatre in Stockport where we hope you can join us as we had a great time last time.

Outside The Box Comedy Club started in Kingston in 2006, founder and comedian Maff Brown wanted to a create a comedy club that everybody wanted to go to and every comedian wanted to play. Showcasing the cream of the comedy circuit along with Big name acts trying out bits proved so successful six months after launch it won Chortle's Best Small Venue award. Recognized in the industry for its warm, friendly and fun vibe, star comedians began to use the club to try their material before bringing it out on tours and TV. Continuing in popularity today, Outside The Box has expanded to venues right across the UK including our very own Stockport!

Tonight's line up is:

Matt Bragg The son of television warm up man Bobby Bragg, Matt has been performing stand up all over the country for the last 7 years. With a unique, low energy, deadpan style and meticulously crafted material he has been gaining critical acclaim from audiences, promoters and comedians alike.

As well as performing at some of the largest clubs in the UK, he is tour support for Ricky Gervais, Harry Hill, Lloyd Griffith (Soccer AM), Suzi Ruffell, Jason Manford, John Bishop, Phoenix Night’s Clinton Baptiste and Scott Bennett. He was also selected for Just The Tonic’s Big Value showcase at Edinburgh Festival in 2019 and finished runner up in Leicester Mercury’s Comedian of The Year 2020. 

Ben Hope He has been doing stand-up for the best part of a decade (as an act and MC), gigging regularly across the UK, and taking a host of critically-acclaimed shows to the Edinburgh Fringe - including the solo stand-up hours Baby Sasquatch in 2018 and Dancing Bear in 2019. His YouTube specials Mr Big Stuff (2022) and Holy Cow (2024) have been viewed 56k times and counting. In 2023 he took Holy Cow on his first nationwide tour around the UK and NZ, including a run at London’s Soho Theatre. Not to brag, but Joe Lycett said it was ‘excellent.’

Kevin Finn ​ Kevin is a regular in the comedy circuit in both the UK & Ireland, winning multiple competitions such as Beat the Frog, Up the Creek Blackout, and becoming a finalist in the Comedy Store King Gong, Hot Water Comedy Club's Breakthrough Act of the Year and So You Think You're Funny 2024.

MC Aaron Wood for those who join us in July you may remember Aaron who did a quick 10 min set. Aaron Wood - Award winning Northern comedian Aaron Wood has hit the ground running since starting out. With back to back sold out runs at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival & tour support for Luke Kidgell, Tom Stade, Carl Hutchinson, Connor Burns, Eshaan Akbar & Ignacio Lopez he is a comic with a very bright future.

His stand up and podcast clips have amassed over 100 million views online and he’s described as ‘talent way beyond his time on the circuit’ for his ability to combine natural stage presence with original, relatable material.
