Dublin Social Weekend
Overview
Overview: Following the hugely successful Dublin social weekends in the past and many requests to revisit, we are running it again. Dublin is a short flight from the UK (around an hour) so it’s ideal for a long weekend.
Dublin has so much to offer; the Guinness Storehouse, the Old Jameson’s Distillery, Kilmainham Goal (A prison museum where many of Ireland's political prisoners were incarcerated, tortured and executed), the Open Top Bus, Dublin Castle, Dublin zoo, St Patricks and Christchurch Cathedrals, Trinity College Library and more craic than we can fit in.
On the Saturday we plan to eat at the Arlington Hotel and see their Celtic Nights (Traditional Irish show) which are a lively mix of pulsating traditional Irish dance rhythms, jaw-dropping footwork and legendary Irish songs - all liberally sprinkled with lashings of sparkling Irish wit from their resident band of balladeers.
We stay right in the city centre; at The Best Western Academy Plaza just off O’Connell Street which makes all the attractions and bars! very accessible, either walking or on the tourist bus.
As with all of Steve’s social weekends there will be a set of coordinated activities throughout the weekend; you can do all of them of just dip in and out as you please (although many will need to be booked in advance), great if you have been before as you can mix the group itinerary with some of the many other attractions.
Travel: The plan is to book your own flights or ferry independently rather than packaging them as this is more flexible and cost effective. If you are confident to do this yourself then book your travel (most will fly) when you have booked the weekend with Spice. If you aren’t confident Steve can ‘walk’ you through the process and guide you at each stage. This also gives flexibility if you want to travel at a different time to the main group. You could also opt for a ferry if flying isn’t your bag (Please ask if you want the ferry).
