Overview
The Science and Industry Museum in Manchester is a major cultural attraction located on Liverpool Road in the historic Castlefield area.
The museum occupies the site of the oldest surviving passenger railway station in the world. Visitors can explore standard galleries completely free of charge. We have a booked timed ticketed slot at 10.15.
Inside the museum, the displays focus heavily on Manchester's pivotal role in science and technology. The Revolution Manchester gallery introduces the city's massive innovations, ranging from steam power to early computing. In the Textiles Gallery, staff run live demonstrations of historic machinery to show how the region earned its nickname, Cottonopolis. People often spend a lot of time in the Experiment gallery, which is packed with interactive, hands-on physics puzzles and illusions.

Location & Itinerary
The Museum Opens from 10am to 5pm daily, we will meet in the foyer at 10.15am.
Walk north on Deansgate. At traffic lights, turn left into Liverpool Road. Past Mamucium gardens on left, past Oxnoble Pub on left. Turn next right onto Lower Byrom Street and the MoSI is on the left.
Public Transport: The nearest train Station is Deansgate and the nearest Metrolink station is Deansgate-Castlefield, both of which are approximately 10 minutes walk from the museum.
Additionally the museum can be accessed via the free bus service bus number 1 and alighting at Lower Byrom Street just outside of the museum.
