Festive Food and Mulled Wine Walk
Overview
Join us for this fairly easy walk taking in The Bridgewater Canal, Sinderland Brook, Dequincy & Woodheys Parks and the famed West Timperley Nature Reserve where an Otter was spotted twice in the 2023 - okay so the chances of us seeing it are minimal but we could be lucky!
There is a semi urban walk however we will be walking on a few muddy pathways that could be slippy so we would still recommend you wear your walking boots.
You don't need to bring any sandwiches today for a change as we will be having lunch at the end of the walk with food provided as a Christmas treat! - festive hats and apparel are welcomed on the walk!
Location & Itinerary
Grade 5: Approx 4 1/2 Miles - please refer to the walk grading information within the website FAQs HERE which also gives you a list of recommended items to bring with you.
Getting There: If you are struggling to find Lauren’s house, please call 07852 366055
By car: There is no parking at Lauren’s house or on her road outside, so please use postcode WA14 5QE and follow these directions. From Manchester Road (the main A56 running between the M60 and M56/M6) turn in to Park Road B5165 signposted Timperley. Take the third road on the right Attenbury's Lane and continue until you come to the first road on the left which is Bollin Drive, turn on to Bollin Drive and park up courteously on the road as soon as you find a space. If Bollin Drive is very busy (lots of parked cars), the lovely people at MAC Sound Ltd have agreed we can park some cars on their car park for this day only - their address is 1 & 2, Attenburys Park Industrial Estate, Park Rd, Timperley, Altrincham WA14 5QE.
Walk back towards Attenbury's Lane and opposite the start of Bollin Drive you can see a small walk through which takes you on to the start of Claremont Avenue (I have posted a photo of the cut through on the event write up under more images!) The house is the 2nd on the right - number 11 and we will put a Spice sign up to help you to recognise it.
By Bus: The nearest bus stop is on Manchester Road outside South Trafford College and is then a 5 minute walk– please use google maps to guide you to the postcode WA14 5NF
By Metrolink: The nearest Metrolink Station is Timperley and it is a 10 minute walk – please use google maps to guide you to the postcode WA14 5NF
The address is Orchard Cottage, 11 Claremont Avenue, West Timperley but as above there is no parking so if you are driving use the details above
