Narrowboat Day Trip from Hilperton Marina
Overview
This is a lovely starting point and on the day we can decide to travel west towards Limpley Stoke or East towards Seend Cleeve. There is free parking for customers at the Marina.
Light refreshments will be provided, but please bring a picnic lunch.
Our boat, supplied by ABC Boat Hire, is the all-electric Seize the Day:
- Up to 8 people
- Length: 30ft
- 12v socket onboard
- Facilities: Induction hob, fridge, sink, bathroom, microwave, indoor and outdoor seating.
They will provide training, maps and advice, the electric boats are simple to operate and whisper quiet.
I'm not available on this date but will happily give a good discount to anyone who would volunteer to host this event, just give me a call or drop me a message.

Location & Itinerary

Avoncliff & Return 3-6 Hours with 1 Lock
If travelling West, you’ll head towards Bradford on Avon about 1 hour cruising from Hilperton. You’ll pass through Bradford on Avon Lock and then cruise on towards Avoncliff Aqueduct. We suggest you turn somewhere between Avoncliff and Limpley Stoke.
Seend Cleeve & Return ~6 Hours with 4 Locks
If travelling East, you’ll pass through a swing bridge on the way to the village of Semington. You will pass the historic entrance to the Wilts and Berks Canal followed immediately by two locks, featuring a small aqueduct.
Between here and the flight of locks at Seend Cleeve are three further swing bridges. You should turn around at this point and not go up the five lock flight.
