This is a premium trip that offer the best chance of sightings. Our group in 2023 experienced minke and humpback whales!.
The Hebridean Waters are favoured with an abundance of Marine Wildlife.
Here you will find Whales, Dolphins, Porpoises, Sharks, the great creatures of the sea.
On the Shoreline, there are colonies of Seals and families of Otters.
There Birds as rare and spectacular as the White-tailed Eagle and as lovable as the Puffin.
You will be taken out to the open waters of the North Minch, where we will try to bring you closer to the Whales and Dolphins that roam these waters during the season. On clear days you’ll be mesmerized by the beauty of the landscape!
On this cruise, the hope is to show you as much of the marine wildlife you can encounter in the Hebrides. You will usually head to the most northerly areas and over to the Shiant Islands too. This can change if the target animals are in the southern areas, but this is the beauty of this length of a cruise as you can cover up to 100 miles out there and get to the areas where no-one else goes!
Lots of people would like to encounter our resident Killer Whales, and this is the cruise where you are most likely to find them, but you do have to be lucky!
We have reserved the morning 4 hour trip for exclusive use but should we not reach 12 the boat will be offered to others to fill the spaces.

Location & Itinerary
The cruises are on board of ‘Orca 1‘.
She is a sea-going RHIB (Rigid Hull Inflatable Boat) with the power to travel quickly to whale and dolphin feeding grounds offshore.
‘Orca 1’ is a superb 11 meter offshore RHIB ; built by Humber, the UK’s leading RHIB manufacturer, and fitted out by Quinquari Marine. ‘Orca 1’ has outstanding sea keeping qualities and is comparable to vessels used by the Royal National Lifeboat Institution, H.M. Customs and the Ministry of Defence.
Powered by Yamaha 300 hp twin engines, ‘Orca 1’ has excellent stability at sea, is able to plane effortlessly across the water, and is highly maneuverable. She has the power, speed and strength to take you quickly and safely into offshore waters where whale and dolphin sightings are most common.
The ride is always exhilarating and often thrilling. ‘Orca 1’ travels at up to 26 knots and carries 12 passengers. She is fitted with saddle-style passenger seating and has forward seats designed to accommodate an adult and smaller child.
All passengers are supplied with full-body flotations suits and visors for safety and comfort. We have life-jackets for all.
Onboard navigational aids include : Garmin GPS chart plotter and radar, Garmin depth sounder, and 2x Cobra marine band VHF radio.
‘Orca 1’ carries a 14-person liferaft and full medical kit and all necessary safety tools.
