Coach & Ferry Options- Isle of Wight 29th May 2026

Fri 29th May 2026:

11.30am The Bear Hotel - 5 minutes walk from Havant Station PO9 1AA

We will be taking pre-orders for lunch nearer the time as we are a large group.

If you are not eating, you can arrive by 12.30pm as shortly afterwards, we will be picked up by a coach that will take us all the way to the Hotel including in the Ferry to the IOW.

The nearest rail station is Havant

If you are driving, you can park at the Bear Hotel for the 4 days for a total of £26.60 via the pay-by-phone App Location Number 59478

This has worked in our favour as it is a lot cheaper parking here than in Portsmouth harbour

Anyone who might be staying in Portsmouth the night before, we can pick you up with the coach at the Wightlink ferry entrance on the wide road outside. The postcode for this is PO1 2LA

I would recommend registering a card at check-in, especially if you wish to order an à la carte dinner.

It is probably easier if not just to pay for drinks as you go by card or cash.

It would be handy if everyone could bring some cash with small notes and coins for incidental activities like the boat trip at the Needles and chair lift at Alum Bay, plus if you will be going off in groups for drinks, etc., when out and about, to make bills easier

Every time you leave the hotel, please leave your room KEY at reception.

10.00 am Depart The Ocean View Hotel, Shanklin

To Alum Bay, optional chair lift* to coloured sand cliffs &

boat trip* to the Needles & optional 3-mile walk to across Tennyson Downs to

Freshwater Bay, and then the group meets up altogether for lunch at Yarmouth*

Return to Hotel By Approx 5 pm

Sun 31st May 2026

8.30-9.00 am Breakfast Included

Leisure day in Shanklin, where the hotel is, with many options of activities

Including Hotel Swimming Pool, walk to Flat seafront walk to Sandown 2 miles each way 45 min each way, afternoon tea* & shops in the Old Village, pub lunch, Shanklin Shrine* plus Rylstone Gardens or perhaps a bus to Ventnor which has some lovely Botanical Gardens and a great pub right next to the sea called The Spyglass Inn

3-course Dinner Included 6 pm- round tables of 8 or 10 people

Evening Entertainment at Hotel or nearby pubs*

Evening stroll to Shanklin Shrine Illuminated *(20 min walk to entrance)

You may wish to go earlier on the weekend too in the day too as it looks very different by day and night. The ticket last gives you unlimited access for 7 days

Monday 1st June 2026:

10.00 am Check Out of Hotel

10.30 am Depart The Ocean View Hotel

11.00 am Osborne House* drop off

11.30-2.00 pm Or stay on the coach to go to Cowes to have a wander around this famous Sailing town with some quaint shops and plenty of places to get some lunch* .

2.30 pm Pick up at Osborne House

3.00 pm Boarding ferry at Fishbourne back to Portsmouth

3.40 pm Fishbourne (Ryde) to Portsmouth Ferry with Wightlink

Arrive back in Portsmouth at 4.30 pm and Havant around 5pm
