Overview

Your mission starts in front of Carfax Tower, at the corner of Cornmarket and Queen Streets, (OX1 1ET, W3W ///aside.harsh.raced). Train and bus stations are close by. The nearest car park is Westgate Centre, (OX1 1NT), or use one of several Park and Rides. Time is of the essence if you're to save the day, so off you go!

Shaken, Stirred, and Slightly Submerged... Disaster looms in Oxford - and you're the city's last hope. Rogue zoologist and recently expelled student Noah Zarke (also pronounced as 'bonkers') has gone full villain. He's constructed a top-secret hydrological device set to unleash catastrophic flooding where the Cherwell meets the Thames. If activated, it'll turn Christ Church Meadow into a swamp, maroon the Longhorn cattle, and leave punts stranded as far as Banbury. Your mission: infiltrate Oxford, track down the hidden clues, and crack the code to deactivate the device before it's too late. Zarke and his group of soggy-minded followers - known as Project B.R.A.Y.N. (Better Rivers Are Your Nemesis) - are in hiding somewhere in the city. Expect distractions, decoys, and possibly ducks... lots of ducks! You'll need cunning, code-breaking skills, and a stiff upper lip. The clock is ticking, Agents... and Oxford doesn't do well in wellies.

If there are enough of us we can make it a competition. Afterwards we can grab lunch, plenty of options, we can decide nearer the time.

The trail is 2.8 miles long and they suggest it takes 2.5 hours

Your Mission

As you skillfully pit your wits against your foe, you will follow a route through the city and around Christ Church Meadow with many twists and turns. Be aware that there is one kissing gate en route. This gate is locked after dark. Also, you may encounter some mud after lots of rain.

++ SAFE ZONES ++ There are public toilets near Clues 01 and 19 at the Town Hall on St Aldates (closed Sundays), and near Clue 05 (women only). There are many places to stock up on supplies or grab a bite between Clues 01 & 09 and after Clue 17. Why not picnic 'undercover' in Christ Church Meadow
