UK Chinese Dragon Boat Festival at Salford Quays

Join us for a couple of hours exploring the spectacle of Dragon Boats racing at Salford Quays.

Since the first UK Chinese Dragon Boart Festival was introduced at the Salford Water Sports Centre in 2012, this event has developed into a fabulous event for the local community and since 2023 it has extended from a one day to a two day event. This has attracted more teams to race and bigger audiences to enjoy this fun-filled, adrenaline pumping, water sport together with the excellent cultural performances and delicious festival foods.

So as well as seeing the spectacle of the Dragon Boats racing, also expect to see Cultural performances including Dragon and lion dance; Chinese and English song chorus, duet and solo; Chinese folk dancing, Chinese folk instruments, Tai Chi, Kung Fu, etc, including interactive experiences and calligraphy and painting display, including interactive experience, such as hands-on practice of "your name in Chinese.
