Wednesday Walking with Linda: 6 mile London Bridge to Charing Cross Walk & Westminster Supreme Court

Join Linda on this  6 mile London Bridge to Charing Cross Walk & Westminster Supreme Court Visit.

Please meet on the London Bridge railway station concourse (high street level), at the top of the escalators near platforms 10 to 12, by the seats outside Costa Coffee, by 10:50 ready for a prompt 11:00 departure.  

We meet at 10:50 because this is a weekday walk and the later start allows attendees to buy off-peak price rail tickets.

We will walk alongside the River Thames and over Vauxhall Bridge to Pimlico for lunch at about 12:45 where I have booked us tables to have lunch (at your own expense) in The Gallery Pub, originally called 'The Perseverance', When the Master Builder Thomas Cubitt was commissioned to build the new district of Pimlico in 1840, he hired mostly Irish labourers and sensibly had them build a pub called 'The Perseverance' first!

After lunch we'll walk on the north side of the River Thames and through gardens to the Houses of Parliament in Westminster and across to the Supreme Court.  

We will visit the Supreme Court rooms, three in total, each with their own unique architecture.

We will also have time to take in the exhibition area which includes interesting information and exhibits connected to the Supreme Court.

There is also a café where you might like to treat yourself to a cup of tea and cake before we walk the short distance to Charing Cross railway station to catch our trains home.  

Please bring drinking water, money to buy lunch and any other drinks and snacks you may want. 

Please dress for the weather on the day (and bring a golfing umbrella if it is expected to rain!).

Please check your transport times, and for any engineering works, at least the day before the walk and allow some contingency time for delays.
