Dinton Pastures Stroll and Lunch
Overview
Join Jackie for a leisurely stroll around Dinton Pastures Country Park, followed by lunch at the nearby pub. Entry to the park is free, but car parking is chargeable. Please share lifts if you can. Current parking charges (as of 17/05/23) are: £2 per hour or £8 for 4 or more hours. I would suggest you pay for 1 hour. The park is situated within easy reach of Reading and Wokingham.
We will meet at the Activity Centre Car park, walk for about forty minutes,then wander round to the nearby Jolly Farmer, Davis St, Reading RG10 0TH (moving any vehicles to limit parking costs, there is free parking at the pub)

The park is 450 acres in size. It has seven lakes, two rivers, three public bird hides, and meadows. One of the lakes, Lavells Lake is designated as a local nature reserve.The two rivers that flow through the park are the River Loddon and the Emm Brook. The Museum of Berkshire Aviation and the headquarters of the British Entomological and Natural History Society are both located in the park.
The site is popular for a number of sports including disc golf, sailing, angling, kayaking, and canoeing.
