Packwood House Visit
Overview
Another in our series of National Trust property visits.
Packwood House is the culmination of a lifetime of dreams: salvaged objects and exotic pieces come together in a Jacobean meets Edwardian style. Beautiful, homely, warm and welcoming. We can't put it better than a visitor in the 1920s did: A house to dream of and a garden to dream in.
The house was originally built in the 16th century, yet its interiors were extensively restored between the First and Second World Wars by Graham Baron Ash to create a fascinating 20th-century evocation of domestic Tudor architecture.
Packwood House contains a fine collection of 16th-century textiles and furniture, and the gardens have renowned herbaceous borders and a famous collection of yews.
We will be able to view the house and garden and after our visit we can have a well earned cuppa in the Garden Kitchen Café and visit the onsite shop and plant shop for goodies!
Please note that if there are low volunteer numbers the house may only be accessible via guided tour, timed ticket only (not bookable).
Entry is free if you are a National Trust member. Please make sure that you book the correct ticket type and if you have a National Trust card you will need to bring it with you on the day.
