Walking with Linda : 6 mile, King's Cross to Charing Cross walk, British Library with Grant & Nursin

Join Linda on this 6 mile, King's Cross to Charing Cross walk, British Library with Grant & Nursing Museum visits. Please meet by the big white 'bird cage' structure on the pavement beside Kings Cross Railway Station on Pancras Road which runs, between Kings Cross and St. Pancras railway stations (near the German Gymnasium restaurant) by 09:50 ready for a prompt 10:00 departure.  

We will walk to the British Library to visit the 'Treasures room' to see valuable books including the Magna Carta. We will also see the Worldwide Philatelic Collection and the Historic Worldwide Currencies display.

Next, we take a 40 minute walk to the Grant Museum of Zoology to see their interesting array of exhibits.

Then we have another 30 minute walk before we stop at about 12:45 for lunch (at your own expense) at Bliss Bite BBQ Restaurant for your choice of BBQ lunches or burgers.

If a 3.5 mile walk, the morning Museum visits and lunch are enough for you, you can go home from Tottenham Court Road underground station after lunch.

After lunch we'll briefly visit the Fo Guang Shan Temple before making our way to the Royal College of Nursing Museum for a visit to see their 'Prison Nursing Unlocked' exhibition. The displays tell the story of how nursing within our prisons has altered throughout history. 

If a 4.5 mile walk, the museum visits and lunch are enough for you, you can go home from Oxford Circus underground station when we finish our visit of the Nursing museum.

Next, we'll walk a couple of miles to the café in a repurposed church crypt where you might like to end the day with a cup of tea and cake before we make our way to Charing Cross railway station to catch our trains home.  

Please bring drinking water, money to buy lunch and any other drinks and snacks you may want. 

Please dress for the weather on the day (and bring a golfing umbrella if it is expected to rain!).

Please check your transport times, and for any engineering works, at least the day before the walk and allow some contingency time for delays.
