Walking with Linda: Saturday 24.5.25, 7, 9 or 11 mile West Ham to Tottenham Hale Walk, Wetlands & Go

Join Linda for this 7 or 9 mile, West Ham to Tottenham Hale Walk & Waltamstow Wetlands Visit.

Please meet outside the exit of West Ham railway station at 0950, ready to depart at 1000.  

We will walk alongside Channelsea River, Three Mills River, Waterworks River, the River Lea and Hackney Cut to a pub by the Canalside. I have booked us tables in the pub to have lunch (at your own expense).  

After lunch we'll continue alongside the canal and then branch off to walk through the Waltamstow Wetlands, and will hopefully see signs of spring there.  

If a 7 mile walk, pub lunch and a visit to the southern part of the Walthamstow Wetlands is enough for you, you can opt to go home from Tottenham Hale railway station, tube and bus transport hub. 

Otherwise, we'll continue to walk via back streets and past almshouses to 'God's Own Junkyard', a gallery/ museum of vibrant neon art.  

After some time to enjoy looking at the exhibits, you might like to treat yourself to an afternoon tea break in the on-site cafe.

If a 9 mile walk, lunch, the Wetlands and the God's Own Junkyard museum visit is enough for you, you can go home from the nearby Walthamstow Central tube station.

Or you could opt to stay at God's Own Junkyard to enjoy the exhibits until it closes at 22:00!

Otherwise, you can walk with me back to Tottenham Hale locks and have an afternoon tea stop break in the Ferry Boat Inn if you wish, before we take the final short walk up the road to Tottenham Hale railway station, tube and bus transport hub to catch your choice of public transport home

Please bring drinking water, money to buy lunch and any other drinks and snacks you may want. 

Please dress for the weather on the day (and bring a golfing umbrella if it is expected to rain!).

Please check your transport times, and for any engineering works, at least the day before the walk and allow some contingency time for delays.  

The walk needs to depart on time for the comfort and enjoyment of those who have arrived on time. Thank you.
