Bristol Lights Festival Free Event
Overview
I have glimpsed the lights festival when in Bristol for another event and was delighted when Andrew offered to host a group to tour the installations. The plan will be to meet at 5pm, visit some installations, stop somewhere for dinner en route, then continue the tour. I hope you will join Andrew at this free event.

Bristol Light Festival is a 10-day celebration featuring captivating, light-based artworks that will illuminate Bristol’s city centre in February 2026, with the first four nights coinciding with the February half-term. Known for transforming the city into a magical outdoor gallery, the festival attracts thousands of visitors each year to experience an unforgettable mix of art and light. We will meet at the Festival hub in Queen Square, where you will also see the first light installations "Bristol is always a good idea" created for the festival in 2024, and Swing Song.
There is a printed map available to pick up from any of the installation points and stewards positioned at each installation to help you, they are wearing white high visibility vests.
The website what3words.com is used to help with finding each location. You can find the what three word location of each installation on the printed map.
Most of the installations are in the open air, so wrap up warm.
Location & Itinerary
There is also a night market at 1 Canons Rd 5-9.30pm, benches and a food market area in Queens Square, and the Harbourside Market is open until 10pm.
There are a number of paid events which you may like to look at, as you might want to make more than one visit. You could use the Spice Social App to see if others want to do one of these extra events. If I were able to attend, I'd be doing the trapese in St Pauls Church!
