When people hear the words social club, all sorts of ideas pop into their heads — and not all of them are fair. The truth is, modern social clubs like Spice Social are a world away from the clichés. So, let’s clear up a few of the biggest myths and set the record straight.
1️⃣ You have to be really outgoing to join a social club
Absolute nonsense.
Spice Social is for everyone — whether you’re naturally chatty or a bit quieter. Lots of our members join because they want to meet new people and push themselves a little. You don’t need to be the life and soul of the party, just open to giving something new a go.
2️⃣ It’s only for people who don’t have friends
Couldn’t be further from the truth.
Most people who join have friends and family already — but they fancy broadening their social circle, trying new things, or just having people to go to events and weekends away with. It’s about adding to your life, not replacing it.
3️⃣ It’s all awkward small talk and name badges
Nope.
Our events are relaxed, friendly and designed to help people feel comfortable. You won’t be stood around awkwardly introducing yourself to strangers — you’ll be out walking, at a quiz night, having a curry, or trying something completely new. Conversations happen naturally when you’re having fun.
4️⃣ It’s only for certain age groups
Not at all.
Spice Social is for adults of all ages, and that’s one of the things our members love. You might find yourself chatting to someone 10 years older or younger than you, but you’ll have one big thing in common — a sense of fun and a love of trying new things.
5️⃣ You’ll be stuck doing things you don’t like
Absolutely not.
You choose what you fancy doing — from walking weekends and pub nights to escape rooms and holidays abroad. Some people stick to a few favourites, others like to try it all. It’s completely up to you.
