Come and find out about the fascinating and often tragic stories of the girls and women who signed up to be munition workers. They suffered danger, explosions and poisoning whilst involved in making munitions for the War effort during the First World War!

Getting There

Erasmus Darwin House is located in Beacon Street, on the edge of the Cathedral Close, and a few minutes’ walk from the centre of Lichfield. Our postcode is WS13 7AD.

From Beacon Street, go through the green gates on the right-hand side of the House.

From the Cathedral Close, go through the passageway opposite the west end of the Cathedral and then through the herb garden. The entrance is in the garden at the rear of the House.
