Walking with Linda: 7 mile, Kings Cross to Kensington walk, Canal and Parks Walk & Design Museum Vis
Overview
Join Linda for this 7 mile Kings Cross, Canal and Parks Walk & Design Museum Visit.
Please meet by the big white 'bird cage' structure on the pavement beside Kings Cross Railway Station on Pancras Road which runs between Kings Cross and St. Pancras railway stations (near the German Gymnasium restaurant) by 09:50 ready for a prompt 10:00 departure.
We'll walk up to and alongside the Regents Canal and follow it round to Regents Park.
We will walk through Regents Park and via back streets to Hyde Park. Next, we walk through Kensington Gardens to a pub for lunch (at your own expense) at about 12:00.
The pub was built in 1750, is renowned for it's exterior flower displays and inside, is full of Sir Winston Churchill memorabilia. They serve a menu of Thai dishes which will be a nice change from our usual pub fayre.
Or, if you prefer, you can bring a picnic to have sitting in the park.
We will have a break of about an hour and a quarter for lunch before our short, afternoon walk through Holland Park to the Design Museum for a visit.
After free time in the museum to independently enjoy the exhibits, you might like to join some of us who like to end the day in a café for a cup of tea or you can make your way home from High Street Kensington, Holland Park or Notting Hill tube stations.
Please bring drinking water, money to buy lunch and any other drinks and snacks you may want.
Please dress for the weather on the day (and bring a golfing umbrella if it is expected to rain!).
Please check your transport times, and for any engineering works, at least the day before the walk and allow some contingency time for delays.
The walk needs to depart on time for the comfort and enjoyment of those who have arrived on time. Thank you.
