Walking with Linda : 5 or 7 mile, Clapham Junction to London Waterloo Walk and a Visit to the Imper

Join Linda for this 5 or 7 mile, Clapham Junction to London Waterloo Walk and a Visit to the Imperial War Museum.

Please meet by the ticket barriers exit in the underpass of Clapham Junction Railway Station at the low numbered platforms end of the underpass at 0950, ready to depart at 1000. The free station toilets are on the overbridge at the high numbered platforms end, so you'll need to arrive early if you want to use them as they are a long way from our meeting point.

We will walk out to the River Thames and alongside it past London's Heliport, St Mary's Church, Battersea (of Four Weddings and a Funeral fame), iconic bridges, houseboats and Battersea Park to the Battersea Power Station shops and cafés complex. We will have one hour break here to get yourself a coffee if you like, use the facilities and to look around the complex or enjoy the Thameside environment. 

We'll then walk on to the Riverside pub for lunch (at your own expense).  

If 5 miles of walking and a pub lunch is enough for you, you can take yourself home from Vauxhall railway station. 

After lunch we'll walk on to Lambeth Walk (song sheets will be issued on the day for those who want to sing and dance The Lambeth Walk!).

It is then just a short walk to the Imperial War Museum where we will visit to independently explore the museum's wartime exhibits.

We can finally meet for an afternoon tea stop in the museum's cafe before catching our trains home from Lambeth tube station or Waterloo railway station.

Please bring drinking water, money to buy lunch and any other drinks and snacks you may want. 

Please dress for the weather on the day (and bring a golfing umbrella if it is expected to rain!).

Please check your transport times, and for any engineering works, at least the day before the walk and allow some contingency time for delays.
