Manchester's Cyan Lines: CL1 The Irk Valley Explorer
Overview
We found out about the Cyanlines project whilst we were taking a look around Manchester's Floral Trail earlier this Summer.
Described as green and blue spaces, squares, pocket parks, rivers, canals & viaducts; at its core, CyanLines is about creating a network of connected green and blue spaces across Greater Manchester, linking waterways, parks and neighbourhoods into something coherent, accessible and inviting. It is a vision that speaks to both quality of life and long-term economic resilience. There are currently 4 Cyanlines in existence and today we take in the first Cyanline CL1 / Victoria Station & NOMA to Queens Park / The Irk Valley explorer. This linear, self guided walk takes in the Glade of Light Memorial, Cathedral Gardens, Sadler's Yard, New Century Hall, Angel Square, Aspin Lane and finishing at Queens Park. We will be finding out a little more about each of our points of interest on the day.
This is described as an easy walk, great for any fitness level with easily-accessible paths and suitable for all skill levels! We will be walking around 2 1/2 miles on the day at a leisurely pace and taking public transport back to our start point (additional cost) or alternatively you can make your own way home from Queens Park.

Our meeting point is at the entrance to The Victoria Tap at 10.50am for a prompt start at 11am - please note the venue only opens at 11am however Greggs just across the way should be open if you want to get a cup of tea/coffee. The nearest Metrolink stop is Victoria Station.
