Heritage Diesel Train Driving Experience – Drive a Class 50

Following our previous and successful and popular heritage train driving days, we have booked another one!
This time we have the chance to drive a class 50.
There is nothing quite like the sight and sound of a diesel locomotive in full cry!
Experience the power and surge of adrenaline as you take the controls on our full day experience*, including a tour of Kidderminster Diesel Depot!
We have booked the afternoon return trip from Kidderminster to Bridgnorth as a Spice exclusive experience hauling a heavy train of carriages powered by a class 50 locomotive.
Running over the whole length of the line, you will power through Bewdley Tunnel, glide across Victoria Bridge and storm up Eardington Bank.
*Note: although our actual driving experience is in the afternoon, we can arrive in the morning and travel in the train whilst others (non-spice) have their driving experience.

Includes
- Travel in the cab for 16 miles - driving for 8 miles and acting as second man for 8 miles.
- A further 16 miles is spent in the rear cab of the locomotive. This will be one return trip from Kidderminster to Bridgenorth.
- A further return trip in the Spice train whilst your fellow drivers are taking you along the line.
- Travelling a total journey of 32 miles; going through Bewdley Tunnel, over Victoria Bridge and up Eardington Bank.
- Tour of the award-winning Kidderminster Diesel Depot and locomotive engine room, including a start-up procedure demonstration
- A presentation folder with a certificate and memento of your experience.
