Altrincham Heritage Town Trail and Market Visit
Overview
Join as we try out the self-guided Altrincham heritage trail, Discover Altrincham: A Journey Through Time, which was unveiled at a launch event in April 2025.
The trail features a series of marked stops, each highlighting significant moments or interesting anecdotes from Altrincham’s past. We will discover the trail together learning about Altrincham as we go along.
The trail passes through The Stamford Quarter, the Old Market Place, past St. Georges Church, Altrincham Town Hall, Altrincham Market (where we will have a look around and possibly take refreshments), The bravest little street in England (Chapel Street), Kings Court then ending at Goose Green a short walk from our start point.
Additional photographs and videos can be accessed via QR codes along the trail and there are interactive clues throughout.
We will be walking around 2 miles on the day at a leisurely pace.

Our meeting point is next to the Clocktower just outside Altrincham Bus, Train and Metrolink Interchange
